Larry Benthall

God called into eternal rest our loved one, Larry Donnell Benthall, II on February 12, 2013 at Duke University Hospital. Larry who was called "Lil Larry" and "Booda", was born on July 31, 1996 to Valiery G. Benthall and Larry Benthall of Gates, NC. He attended Rich Square Creecy Elementary School in Rich Square, Northhampton County. He moved to Gates County in 2005, where he attended T.S. Cooper Elementary, Buckland Elementary, Central Middle School and Gates County High School where he was currently on the varsity basketball team. He gave his life to Christ and joined Zion Tabernacle Church in Corapeake, NC at an early age. He later joined his parents at Damascus Road Worship Center in Eure, NC where he served faithfully as Armour Bearer to Pastor Dr. Jeffrey L. Benthall of Damascus. He was a young man who had a heart after God. He truly walked by faith and not by sight. He had a great love for his family and friends. "Lil Larry" was a member of DRWC Praise Team, Nursing Home Ministry and Various Outreach Programs of Damascus. He was a very faithful member of Sunday School also. "Lil Larry" was a very, very loving, caring, sweet, respectful and humble young man. He had a deep passion for basketball. "Lil Larry" leaves to cherish his (GREAT) memories, his loving, devoted and grateful parents Valiery G. Benthall and Larry Benthall, one brother Darrell W. Riddick Jr. (Christy) of Gates, NC. Three sisters, Loren, Sasha, Tiya Taylor of Ahoskie, NC. Two nephews Darrian and Darrion Riddick; one niece Miyananh Taylor; special cousins, Victorya Randolph who was like a sister; special friend Michael Norman, Jr. and a special cousin, Alton Goodman III who were like his brothers and special high school sweetheart, Shadae Roscoe; two grandparents, Rosetta Faison and Lula Mae Adams-Goodman; two grandfathers preceded him in death, Ernest Faison and Alton Goodman, Sr; one aunt; two uncles and one niece preceded him in death - Lisa G. Seldon (Michael), Demetrius Adams and Michael James Benthall and Gabrielle Taylor. Six aunts, Viola R. Benthall, Faye B. Lewis (Rob), Etta B. Sessoms (Rickey), Vicki G. Moore (Victor), Romona G. Hunt (Bernard) and Susie Spruill; five uncles, Rev. Dr. Jeffrey L. Benthall (Kathy), Harvey m. Kearney (Mary), Ernest R. Benthall (Sandra), Gregory P. Benthall and Alton Goodman Jr. A host of special cousins, relatives, friends and Damascus Road Worship Center.
