Mamie Frances Rascoe, better known as “Baysis” was born in Bertie County on March 29, 1926 to the late General and Emma Davis. She departed this life on Friday, May 30, 2014 at her residence. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kelford. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late John Otis Rascoe, Sr. She loved the Lord and had a great joy for praising Him. She was a devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking and caring for people. Baysis was famous for her homemade Brunswick stew. She leaves to cherish fond memories her children, Vernell Davis of the home, Mamie Perry (Felix) of Lewiston, NC, Vivian Chavis (Willie), Bobby Rascoe (Alice), John O. Rascoe, Jr. (Betty) of Kelford, NC, Christine Adams of Dover, Delaware, Wayne Rascoe of Greenville, NC, Yvonne Holley of the home and Christopher Rascoe (Rose) of Hamilton, NC; twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty-four great grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, two nieces Lillian Bailey and Joyce Ruffin Clark and a host of other relatives and friends.
